President: Carrie Keogh, Gore Insurance

Carrie has worked in the insurance industry for over 12 years and has recently joined the claims team at Gore Mutual Insurance as a Senior Accident Benefits ClaimCare Advisor. Carrie has a background in theatre with an honours degree from the University of Windsor and has completed the Fundraising for Non-Profits program at Ryerson University. Carrie spends her free time with her two little boys, Jamie and Evan. Carrie is excited to share with the K-W chapter members the new and interesting topics and events we have planned for the 2018-2019 year!


Vice President: Jaime Renner, Economical Insurance

Jaime Renner has worked for Economical since 2012.  She is currently an Accident Benefits adjuster.  Since joining Economical, she has successfully completed all 10 CIP courses and recently finished the first course in the Canadian Risk Management program.  Jaime has a back ground in education,  graduating from Conestoga College’s Educational Assistant program in 2003.  Jaime loves to cook and bake.  She considers herself to be a foodie.  In her free time she loves to go to the beach, travel and spend time with her partner Mike, his two amazing kids and her puppy Frank!

Ellie is currently an Accident Benefits Claims Representative at The Co-operators.  She has been in the insurance industry since 2010 and has experience in claims, underwriting as well as sales/ service of home, auto, commercial and life insurance.  She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts, has completed her CIP and is currently working on obtaining her FCIP.  Outside of the insurance world, she teaches aquafit at Movati Athletic and is an ambassador for an organization called Fitspirt who’s mandate is to encourage young girls to be active and have a positive body image.

Jeff Cronk is the Claims and Customer Experience Manager at Curo Claims Services. He has worked at Curo/OTIP Since 2007 with experience in Auto, Property and Casualty claims handling. Jeff is a graduate of the Business Marketing and Business of Insurance Programs at Fanshawe College. Jeff also has his FCIP and CRM, and recently completed a Bachelors of Business Administration from Yorkville University. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Cynthia, and daughters Chloe and Penelope (and a little golf when he can!).


Past President: Charlene Ferris, The Co-operators

Charlene Ferris is a National Property Response Centre Claims Specialist at The Co-operators.  Charlene has worked at The Co-operators since 2000, right after graduating from the Insurance Program at Mohawk College. Charlene has her Fellowship designation, Canadian Risk Management and is a  Certified Fire Explosion Investigator.  She also sits on the board of the International Association of Arson Investigators. Charlene spends her free time at the cottage, playing soccer or spending time with her nieces and nephews

Provincial Delegate: Jennifer Brown, Economical Insurance

Jennifer Brown is a Team Leader for Accident Benefits at Economical Insurance. She has worked in AB at Economical since 2010.  Jennifer has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor and Bachelor of Science from Wilfrid Laurier. Jennifer has been an executive member with the K-W OIAA since 2013. Jennifer can usually be found doing something crafty with her kids or cooking/ baking something delicious in her spare time.


Director: Leeann Darke, The Co-operators


Leeann Darke is presently an Accident Benefits Claims Representative at The Co-operators. She has extensive experience in adjusting Catastrophic & complex claims and has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years.  In her free time she heads for outdoors to camp, go to the cottage or whatever adventure her kids and family lead her on. This is Leeann’s first year as an executive member of the K-W OIAA.


Director: Lisa Dobson, Cooperators Insurance


Lisa is a Property Supervisor, with the Claims Response Centre at The Co-operators. She has over 20 yeas experience in the insurance industry and stared working with The Co-operators in 2001. Lisa graduated from Mohawk College with a Business Administration Certificate and from Seneca College with her Rehabilitation Counselling Certificate (Honours). She has completed her CIP and is currently working on her Advanced CIP. Lisa is a past KW-OIAA president and happy to be joining the executive team again. She likes camping with her family (especially with their new trailer) – “glamping” is definitely the way to go, loves photography and reading


Financial Secretary: David Bushell, CPA, CA, CBV, CFF, KPMG Forensic


David is a senior manager at KPMG in Waterloo and a past KW OIAA social director. David has over 20 years of experience assisting insurance adjusters, lawyers and individuals with insurance investigations, insurance claim preparations (AB and property), litigation support for personal injury claims, forensic accounting analysis, and business valuations. Outside the office, David enjoys spending time with his kids (but not shopping), reading detective novels, playing word games, and working on the yard.


Social Director: Randy Henderson, Arcon Forensic Engineers

Randy is responsible for Client Management, Business Development & Marketing at Arcon Forensic Engineers where he has been since 2013. Since graduating from Ryerson University and the University of Toronto with degrees in Engineering & Business, he has worked for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small entrepreneurial ventures over the past 25 years. Outside of the office, Randy likes to keep busy doing anything and everything he can with family & friends


Social Director: Ashleigh Leon, Miller Thomson LLP


Ashleigh Leon is a litigator, with industry expertise in insurance and personal injury. She also specializes in catastrophic impairment and brain injury related cases.

Ashleigh received her Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. In 2005 she was awarded the McCarthy Tetrault scholarship.

Prior to law school, Ashleigh worked in the compliance department at Florida International University and assisted a sole practitioner mainly on contract law issues. Ashleigh was the president of the student council committee responsible for all volunteer work in the West Palm Beach community. Throughout law school Ashleigh summered with Miller Thomson.

Before entering law school, Ashleigh attended Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida on a varsity softball scholarship where she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. At Northwood University, Ashleigh was the recipient of the Outstanding International Student Award, she graduated magna cum laude, was a four-year All-Conference athlete, a four-year All-Conference student-athlete and a one-year All-American athlete.

Social Media / Website Director: Kristin McCutcheon, FirstOnSite Restoration


Kristin is a Business Development Manager at FirstOnSite Restoration and in the past served as the Bulletin Editor on the KW-OIAA.  Kristin is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College and has been a member of the local insurance community since fax machines were still frequently used.  She is passionate about her family, her community, insurance and quality doughnuts.  Kristin welcomes the feedback of the members of OIAA to ensure we publish quality, relevant content.


Bulletin Director: Manish Patel, Paladin Security Group


Manish has over 25 years of Investigations experience and is Manager of Investigation Services – Eastern Canada for Paladin Security Group.  He is a multi-faceted Investigator with extensive experience in Insurance Claims. Manish is an avid foodie and photographer, with interests in technology and things that go fast.
